Day 2 | Interlaken

So our second day was in Interlaken, Switzerland. It sits between two beautiful lakes and sort of at the base of the “top of Europe” – or the peak of Jungfrau.  That morning we took the “Golden Pass” panoramic train from Montreux to Interlaken.  We weren’t sure what to expect on the Golden Pass, as the pictures made it seem like the best time to take it was in the summer… but it was beautiful. It took us up the mountain behind Montreux and really gave us our first view of the Alps.  The rest of the few hour train ride was at elevation and curving through the mountain range. It stopped at several cute little Swiss towns, all with 2 feet of snow on the rooftops of their classic Swiss homes. We weren’t able to take photos really because they all had {wayyy} too much glare from shooting through the windows. Maybe when I’m done editing all the photos, I’ll put up a post of my “memory photos”… the ones that I KNEW couldn’t turn out well but that I didn’t want to miss taking to preserve the memory.  Anyway, this train ride was one of the highlights of the trip for me. The views were beautiful and the towns were perfect.

By the time we got into Interlaken, it was early afternoon. We dropped our stuff off at the hostel and then just explored.  We didn’t do much this day but we did enjoy some amazing German beer – as pictured below. Otherwise… Nothing else too exciting to share from this day.

  {But.. Maybe that’s because the next couple days were so fabulous}

Check back soon for some of the best photos of the week – {Jungfrau}  and {The Matterhorn}

And ending with my beautiful friend and travel partner extraordinaire– Rebecca Romios – of Rebecca Romios Photography
